  1. There is no doubt that UFC is growing in popularity world wide. I am a boxing fan and UFC fan. I paid for pay per view for both. But what I don’t understand is why are boxers paid $10 – $20 million per fight and UFC fighters are not????

I am very sure UFC is bringing in just as much money in advertisements, pay per view, and memorabilia. But where is all the money going? Are the Presidents and executives keeping most of the money for themselves? Is Dana White getting rich off of the fighters? Is Dana White the Don King of MMA? Why do Dana White choose the matchups?

    • Dana White IS the Don King of MMA. He claims to protect the fighters, but is he really protecting the fighters? I don’t know much about the inner workings of boxing, but I do know its pretty corrupt. Do you think UFC will go that way? I hope not!

  2. Yeah I totally agree. The money just isn’t in MMA just yet. Think of how long boxing has been around. It has built an incredible industry behind it. The UFC and MMA have only been around since 1993. No where near boxing. Having said that…. GOOD QUESTION! WHERE IS THE money going. No doubt right in to Dana White and the Furtida’s pocket! The top fighters are getting some, but guys who enter the UFC (the pinnacle of their young career) are only making $2000 a fight. Maybe 10k if they are on their way up in the UFC.

  3. I base this on the Henderson -Bisping result. Bisping (in line for title shot) gets KTFO and now Henderson “may or may not” get a shot. is this a sport or a circus (WWE). Ex: Dana’s boys 1) Bonnar- undercard, 2) Griffin- circus fight he will lose to Silva and means absolutly nothing to either fighters record, 3) the best:- Leznar- wins grudge match, vindicates his right to hold the HW belt but totally blows any respect he gained with his post-fight antics( collage grad, ncaa champ, pro athelete and acts like he’s still in high school). I like to be entertained as much as the next fan but i also want to see the best “fighters” get rewarded for their efforts and the UFC over the last 5 yrs seems to have become ( in some aspects) a popularity contest rather than the competitive sport it has evolved into. i am not taking anything away from the guys that have belts and earned their spots at the top of the sport at all, but some of the antics are getting to be a bit much.
